Writer | Actress | Painter | Youth Development Professional
Senyah Haynes is also the author of Jayla's Jaunts, a children's book series that chronicles a little girl and her magical aunt as they travel from state to state, learning about Black culture and history. In addition to being a writer, she's an actress, a painter (her work is featured on this book's cover), and a youth development professional. Pre-pandemic, she traveled as often as possible, and she breathlessly awaits the return of that kind of freedom to wander the world. Subjects she puts a lot of energy into are legacy and serious efforts made toward anti-racism. She works and resides in Chicago and has been a proud south-sider her entire adult life. She'd like to thank the publisher for appreciating her words enough to gather them together in this anthology.
